Swallows Defender Spotted Training with Golden Arrows
Moroka Swallows defender, Keenan Phillips, may have found himself a new club.
Since last year, there has been a financial and administrative crisis plaguing Swallows. As a result, players were unable to honour match fixtures; it also saw the departure of coach Steve Komphela in February this year.
Although Phillips’ contract expires on 25 June 2025, he only made 16 appearances during the 2023/24 Premier Soccer League season: he last played for Swallows on 23 December 2023 in a goalless draw against Royal AM.
This is a far cry from Phillips’ performances in previous seasons, where he was a regular starter for the Johannesburg outfit.
Now, according to the latest reports, the 24-year-old was spotted training with Golden Arrows on Monday, 24 June.
While it’s unclear if Phillips has officially signed with the Durban-based club, a move might be in the cards, especially since Komphela has been coaching Arrows for the past four months.
Only time will tell if the defender will remain at Swallows or seek a new challenge at Golden Arrows.
